VanMoof is a Dutch company dedicated to bringing high performance to the world of e-bikes. Now, they are pushing the envelope even further with a new hyperbike designed for long-distance riding.
The VanMoof V Hyperbike promises to be a true car replacement, especially in European countries like the Netherlands and Germany, where there’s already a substantial infrastructure for cycling in the cities.
Although VanMoof presented the VanMoof V concept last October, they are still rolling out new features for the model. This is what we know so far.
The VanMoof V Hyperbike Specifications
- Battery: 700 Wh internal
- Motor: Dual motor configuration (two 500W motors)
- Speed: up to 31 mi/h
- Rider height: 5’5” – 6-8”
The Hyperbike has a signature VanMoof look: a chunky, solid form, robust aluminum frame, and thick large motorcycle-style tires. It features two-wheel drive, a full suspension frame, advanced acceleration, and automatic shifting transmission. The bike also comes with VanMoof’s signature Kick Lock for easy and reliable anti-theft locking and integrated location tracking tech. So, if it goes missing, all you need to do is to report it as stolen via the VanMoof app and wait for them to locate it.
Designed To Shrink Even The Biggest Cities
Ties Carlier, Co-Founder of VanMoof says that this bike is designed to take you faster and further than an average e-bike and to make you feel like an equal part of traffic. It can reach a speed of 50km (31mph) which is over speed limits for bikes in some countries. Talk about an overachiever! No need to worry though: the bike comes with integrated speed settings that you can adjust to local regulations.
The Buy
The expected price for this model is $3598, and you can reserve yours for $20 in the Netherlands, Germany, France, the UK, the US, and Japan. There are already over 10,000 reservations, most in Germany, the US, and the Netherlands. This shows how great the demand for higher-performance electric bicycles like these is.
The delivery is expected to start by the end of the year. VanMoof has recently announced the biggest-ever reveal on April 5 at 17:00 CEST, so stay tuned.
