Luxury Meets Sustainability
This electric SUV is shaped for aerodynamic performance: with a spindle body and a minimalist, though luxurious and spacious interior, this is a Lexus vehicle through and through.
The mean electric machine boasts a classic sleek Lexus design, a lightweight and highly rigid body, a BEV-specific platform (e-TNGA), and new steering control. It has a 150kW motor upfront and an 80kW motor at the back.
The RZ 450e promises superior handling stability and ride comfort thanks to the electronic steering-by-wire and a yoke steering wheel. Its weight distribution also appears to be near-ideal thanks to the optimal battery and motor placement.
The company wanted to design a uniquely Lexus BEV that is not only safe but also exciting to drive. The technology making this possible is a new all-wheel-drive system DIRECT4.
Lexus is playing it safe with pretty conservative specifications on this car. The 225-mile range distance is less than impressive though, but it should be enough for a standard commute and a loyal Lexus customer.
