iFetch Frenzy
Many dog toys in the market are designed to keep pets physically active. The iFetch Frenzy ball drop is a brain game for dogs, and this is what sets the toy apart from many others. Many customers, however, believe that the mini tennis balls used in the game are too small that they could pass for choking hazards for bigger breeds of dogs.
Ifetch Frenzy consists of a tower, about 6 to 12 feet high, with an opening at the top and 3 chutes at the base. It is played by dropping the ball into the top, while the dog figures out which bottom opening the ball will come out. Once the ball is released, it rolls off straight across the room until the dog catches it. So in a way, it also exercises dogs physically as they scramble or turn around, run after balls, and pick and drop balls in the tower.
The game is a fun process, mentally-stimulating as well. But like human games, iFetch has to fit the personality of the dog. Some breeds, particularly the bigger ones, want a more active play. They may find iFetch Frenzy slightly dull. So it’s important that dog parents understand what their pets need and assess their personalities before purchasing dog toys.
The iFetch dog toy appears appropriate for small to medium breeds only, considering the size of the dog balls which is 1.6 inches in diameter. Tiny toys are easy to swallow accidentally, particularly for dogs with bigger mouth openings. Choking can be deadly for animals, so a trial play is necessary to gauge the dog’s response to the toy. Better yet, don’t leave pets playing unsupervised.
It’s great knowing that the tower has a storage compartment at the bottom that can hold all three mini balls securely when not in use. For fur parents, the convenience of stacking toys neatly is an added value.
Overall, this brain game for dogs is an innovative idea to keep the brain and physical muscles working together. Then again, it may only fit certain dog personalities.
