Google Pixel 3a
Two years ago, Google rolled out its second generation of Pixel smartphones. This year, the tech giant has rolled out one of its most anticipated smartphones ever – the Pixel 3a. It has a larger body and screen as well as a more energy-efficient processor from Qualcomm.
Designed as a mid-range smartphone, the Pixel 3a features Qualcomm’s newest CPU architecture that boasts of a 2+6 core arrangement. This allows it to be more power efficient than its predecessor, the Pixel 2 with a core arrangement of 4+4 on the Snapdragon 835. The 835 may have been the lord of the smartphone cores of the past. But with the entry of the 670, it’s going to be a great battle ahead. This is true since everyone wants a smartphone that can do almost everything without undermining performance.
Another positive note is that the 3a now comes with better resolution at 1080 x 2200 pixels for an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. Its predecessor, the Pixel 2, only came with a 16:9 ratio. What will surprise you is that they have the same pixel density of 441 PPI. Nevertheless, the 75% screen-to-body ratio of the Pixel 3a is a lot better than the Pixel 2’s 67.9%.
The 3a also now comes with the latest Android OS, the Pie at version 9.0. It still sports the usual 4GB + 64GB RAM, ROM arrangement, however. With regards to the shooter, the 3a comes with a 12.2-megapixel main shooter. It features a 28-mm f/1.8 wide angle lens. But what stands out is the 3a’s Night Sight. It can give you amazing low-light shots without the need for a flash. There’s the Depth Editor and Color Pop, too.
The improvements in the Pixel 3a from the 2 may be modest. Considering the lower price point, they can make for a great smartphone experience, nonetheless. And this also makes a perfect electronic gift for your loved ones.
