If you are anything like us, you spend quite a few hours a day using your keyboard for work or play; or, you know, both. Using a regular keyboard for such prolonged periods of time can be, quite literally, a pain: it can cause discomfort, fatigue and wrist, arm, shoulder, and even back pain. There’s a reason ergonomic keyboards have become so popular.
The Dygma Defy is pushing the envelope even further. With a unique design and loads of innovative features, Dygma promises (and delivers) a keyboard that’s comfortable, customizable, incredibly versatile, and, let’s admit it, just looks awesome.
Dygma Defy Features:
- Split design
- Anodized aluminum body
- Programmable layers
- Integrated palm rests
- 8-key thumb clusters
- Built-in tenting up to 60º
- Wireless connectivity
Custom Ergonomics
The successor to Dygma Raise from 2017, the Dygma Defy takes ergonomics to the next level.
This sturdy but lightweight futuristic keyboard looks similar to robot hands: it is designed to place your wrists, hands, and shoulders in a natural position to help you avoid pain and fatigue.
Thanks to the split design, you can align your hands with your forearms. This position pushes your elbows to the side of your body and straightens your shoulders and back. The halves are completely independent so you can use the space between them for anything you need. We all know it’s coffee, but whatever.
There are built-in palm rests and foam palm pads. Tenting allows the hands to rest and remain comfortable during long periods of typing.
Since the natural position can be individual, the Defy has the optional tenting from 0º to 60º so you can find the angle that works best for your hands. There is also a reverse-tenting solution with angles of 4° and 8°.
A columnar layout reduces finger travel and feels more natural because your fingers move in a straight path to reach the keys, instead of diagonally. This is more practical, easier on the fingers, and it helps you type faster. The thumb cluster is curved to follow the natural arch of the thumb. But the best part is that you can customize the layout and thumb cluster and create custom layers to suit your body perfectly.
