From the company that gave us a cube-shaped pillow (for real) comes another sleep accessory to haunt your dreams. Just kidding, this one sounds much more enjoyable: but still a bit scary to me!
Since sleeping on a cube might be just the one thing I haven’t tried to get a decent night’s sleep, this new product might also be worth trying. They named it Dream Machine, but it is kind of what my nightmares are made of.
AI Dream Catcher
The Dream Machine continually monitors your sleeping process and regulates environmental light, sounds, temperature, and even smells to best suit your sleep needs. It does all that by using AI technology, and it collects information via four sensors:
- Sound sensor tracks snoring and ambient noises.
- Light sensor measures luminance in your room.
- Temperature sensor monitors temperature changes.
- Scent functionality detects if the scent pods are on or off.
This machine is seriously well connected: to your sleep monitoring wearables, smart lights and thermostats, and the app. The app allows you total control of the process, it offers preprogrammed sleep and wake routines, and you can also create custom ones.
AI-Learning While You Sleep
While you sleep, the machine learns through sensors and adjusts settings to provide you optimal sleep environment. The software continually learns and updates with new features. Basically, the more you sleep, the smarter it gets. But no, it does not see your dreams, thankfully!
An interesting detail is a dual aromatherapy diffuser with two separate compartments for pods so you can choose one aroma to fall asleep to and a new smell to kick your morning off right. The machine also comes with voice control, which is quite handy, pun intended.
As for potential privacy issues, the company insists they don’t want to hear you sleep: they claim the audio is not stored in the cloud, and the collected data is not connected to individual users. However, they do note that while data is not connected to individual users, it is used to improve the machine learning algorithm.
