Cleer Audio is the latest brand to jump on the “open-ear” earbuds trend wagon. Their new wireless earbuds – Cleer Audio Arc – feature an ear hook design with a flexible hinge for a secure but comfortable fit so you can listen to your favorite tunes while running and biking. They fit passively, meaning they won’t block out environmental sounds completely, allowing you to stay aware of your surroundings.
So, all in all, not that different from Bose Sport Open Earbuds and Sony LinkBuds… except in price. At $130, these Bluetooth earbuds are much cheaper than the competition. But are they worth it?

Hear Music And Your Surroundings
With an open-ear design, the Cleer Audio Arc wireless earbuds don’t cover your ear canal – instead, they sit above it, channeling audio directly into your ear. Since they’re not noise-canceling, they allow you to remain aware of your external surroundings, which is crucial when you’re running or biking outside. Despite their physical detachment from your ear canal, they deliver good-quality audio that is airier compared to their in-ear counterparts.
Boasting graphene-coated 16.2mm neodymium drivers that beam music directly to your ears, these open earbuds deliver dynamic and rich audio quality with plenty of volume and bass. They’re also pretty easy to control. Like most wireless earbuds on the market, they come with on-bud touch-controls that allow you to adjust volume, pause, play or skip tracks, and answer and end calls with convenient touch gestures.
The battery life is pretty impressive too. According to Cleer Audio, the Arc has seven hours of battery life, which is one hour more than the Sony LinkBuds S, and one hour less than Bose Sport Open Earbuds. A quick 10-min charge provides an hour of battery life, and you can charge the earbuds pretty seamlessly too using their carrying case.
The Buy
Priced at $129.99, the Cleer Audio Arc True Wireless Earbuds are quite a steal. They’re also available in two colors (for now): Midnight Blue and Light Grey.
