A well-known staple in housewares, OXO brings its experience in creating cook wear to the great outdoors. Launching exclusively with REI, OXO’s Outdoor line has just released a series of durable camping utensils.
The set includes cooking, grilling, and cleaning tools, a portable chopping board, and a shatterproof French press coffee maker.
OXO’s kitchenware covers the shelves in home goods stores like Target and Bed, Bath, and Beyond. It’s a safe bet that most kitchens have at least one piece of OXO gear tucked in a drawer or out on a drying rack.
It will be interesting to see if the brand’s expertise translates into viable gear for the outdoors.
OXO Outdoor Camping Utensils First Releases
The first seven releases from the Outdoor collection feature the OXO Outdoor Flexible Silicone Utensil 2-Piece Set ($17) with high heat resistance for camping stove cooking, the OXO Outdoor Grilling Turner and Tongs Set ($20), the OXO Outdoor Can and Bottle Opener ($15), the OXO Outdoor Campsite Squeeze Bottle Set ($10) the portable OXO Outdoor Steady Surface Cutting Board ($12), the OXO Outdoor Pots and Pans Scraper ($6) and the OXO Outdoor Cast Iron Grill Pan Brush ($10).
Several other camping utensils will arrive soon. The OXO Outdoor Campgrounds French Press will have a shatterproof carafe and will be made from 50% certified recycled ingredients. The OXO Outdoor 8-inch Chef’s Knife with Protective Sheath ($15) and the OXO Outdoor Griddle Turner ($14) are also in the wings.
OXO Outdoor Utility and Purchasing
Right off the bat, the shatterproof French press and the grill pan brush look like great options for car camping. The pot and pan scraper is an underappreciated tool that is always needed, but easy to forget on backpacking and camping trips.
