Atlantic British’s Vintage Aluminum Cases
Just in time for summer vacation season, Land Rover specialty outfitter Atlantic British delivers a vintage-inspired, stackable line of aluminum travel cases to keep the family jewels — er, belongings — safe and organized on this summer’s adventures. If you’re tired of your car travel kit comprising overflowing, mismatched plastic bins or piles of random backpacks and grocery bags, Atlantic British can get your storage dialed in.
Read on for details.
Aesthetics & Specs
With heavy latches and rivets in bright aluminum, Atlantic British’s travel cases call back to a different era in family travel. They’d fit right in on a checkered picnic blanket or under a beach umbrella, and their build is one of time-tested functionality.
Atlantic British builds the locking travel cases out of lightweight, 1-mm thick aluminum. Fitted with a gasket seal, each container is waterproof. An extra aluminum layer reinforces each corner to facilitate stacking and prevent damage.
The large, stainless steel latches are designed for easy operation and can accommodate padlocks. Spring action handles complete each case.
Utility
Atlantic British recommends the travel cases for dry goods and valuables that need to be protected, organized, or stored. They are both waterproof and critter-proof with their solid construction and gaskets (up to a certain size of critter).
I’m not sure I would store valuables in the cases unless they were bolted down — but then again, it’s dicey to leave anything in or on your car unattended.
Modular Design
Atlantic British travel cases come in four sizes — 30L, 50L, 70L, and 95L. The hardshell containers are designed to stack neatly, whether in the back of the family SUV or strapped to the off-road rig’s roof rack.
Due to their lightweight walls, the cases don’t cut enormous footprints, even in their larger sizes. The 95L is 30 inches long, 17 inches wide, and 13.5 inches deep — about the size of an average rolling suitcase.
