Seiko’s Astron doesn’t pretend to be self-winding, but then it never needs new batteries – or to be manually set, for that matter, since an onboard chip receives GPS satellite signals, pinpointing both the time zone it’s currently in, then synchronizing with the atomic clock. The solar-powered watch is good to depths of 100m, sports a ceramic bezel, sapphire crystal glass and comes in stainless steel or titanium.
