Kindle Paperwhite
An E-ink display that looks like actual paper is a good thing. Kindle’s Paperwhite jumps ahead of the pack with – you guessed it – a white background, achieving 25% higher contrast than before, plus crisper text thanks to a pixel-packed 212 ppi. Paperwhite also brings another long overdue feature to your bed table: built-in (and highly adjustable) illumination, though unlike backlight tablets the screen is illuminated from the front using a nanoimprinted light-guide (beats me?) to evenly distribute the LED’s light. And don’t worry about running out of juice mid-book: the new Kindle handily outlasts its predecessors with an 8 week battery life.
