Form 1 3D Printer
You’re probably sick of reading about 3D printing what with Makerbot’s impressive Replicator 2 released about a week ago, but Form 1 shouldn’t be missed. The next-gen 3D printer pushes the envelope with its printing method which, in place extruding (printing out small lines of plastic), uses stereolithography, a technique previously restricted to high expensive industrial devices. Models are created quietly, one layer at a time from a liquid plastic resin using a laser, permitting up to 25 micron precision – that’s 4 times smaller than the Replicator 2′s resolution, which was remarkable in itself.
Heard enough? Hit up their Kickstarter page to ogle over some precision-printed parts – 2300$.
