Snap Folding Skateboard
Why a folding skateboard, you might ask. Why not? As long as the folding mechanism doesn’t impede on normal function, we’re all for it. The Snap Skateboard’s shape and weight are pretty standard (it accommodates standard wheels and trucks, too), though it’s made from aircraft aluminium, meaning the board can take more abuse than typical wooden decks. Don’t lose sleep on the account of structural integrity, either: the folding switches pull back 8 steel pins per fold (think miniaturized bank vault) that keep the board straight and rigid for riding. When you’re done, unhinge it to its reduced 14″ size and pop it in a backpack, no sweat.

Were trick riders clamoring for their boards to fold in two places in the direction that they routinely place the most downward force?
Were commuters and travelers clamoring for a stiff AL deck and hard small wheels? I think not. At least the Stowboard (StowboardUSA.com) provides a smooth ride for commuters and actually folds smaller.
